• Up and down Aargau

The neighbor canton of Aargau has some nice and well conserved cities; in February and March we visited three of these: Bremgarten, Laufenburg and Boniswil(Halwyl Castle).

  • January and February photostory

Heavy snowfall came to Switzerland (and the rest of EU). Here are two photos from the place we live:

  • Bye bye 2011

We spent the week between Christmas and New Years together with my sister in-law and friends from Romania. During these eight days we celebrated 3 birthdays (mine, Monica’s and Raul’s) + New Years Eve + Saint Vasile and between keeping our stomachs busy we managed to do some travelling and visited some of our favorite […]

  • Ending the hiking season

Before the snow settled seriously in the mountains we managed to do two more hikes at the end of this lovely indian summer that covered Switzerland. First one was in Graubünden, we went through Zügenschlucht canyon (near Davos) and the other one was a classical Rigi autumn walk with great view towards Lake Luzern and […]

  • Vienna and Paris

First days of November and December caught us on the road outside of Switzerland; in November we went to Vienna and we celebrated Oana’s birthday there and in the beginning of December we spent an extended weekend in Paris. During both escapades we enjoyed part of the cities that we knew more or less already […]

  • September and October: walks round-up

  • Lenk – Gstaad

Simmental is a valley that we’ve only transited from Montreux to Spiez via the Golden Pass line and we never had the opportunity to give it a proper visit. It was only the last weekend of August when we decided for a 2-day trip in the area (is quite remote from Zürich) and we chose […]

  • Hamburg and Strasbourg

It was autumn 2010 when I travelled in Hamburg but it was a business trip so I didn’t see too much except the hotel(s) and a bit of the public transport. This year we’ve attended Charlotte and Alfonso’s wedding so we had some time to see more of the city. Or at least we tried, […]

  • Quick shots

Long time passed since my last post; main reason is that we’ve been on the road quite often and found not so much time for writing. But I’ve been busy posting pictures on Flickr, so let’s get started and remember some moments from last weeks of July: we’ve attended for the first time Paleo music […]

  • Niesen

This popular peak was on my TODO list of hikes in Switzerland for a long time and only last Saturday we had the chance to accomplish this “task”. And it is popular believe me, the silhouette of this mountain, which is a shape of a vulcano as seen from lake Thun; but also the great […]
