  • Sardinia

We spent one week of holidays in Sardinia, more exactly in Dorgali, a city (well … if you can say so) situated in the north-east part of the island. We chose this destination because I read that if you are into mountaineering and climbing you have plenty of outdoor opportunities nearby. However we didn’t want […]

  • First day of 2011

… we spent it on mount Rigi. Although we woke up a little bit late after New Year’s Eve, we felt like doing something in that day, so we checked the webcams and we saw that there is good weather … but only above the clouds layer which was at about 1200m . Oana had […]

  • Lötschberger Südrampe

South from Lötschberg tunnel, the train line reaches Hohten(~1100m) and then descends for 400m towards Brig. This part is called “Lötschberger Südrampe” and it has a hiking trail along it. We went in a nice and warm autumn afternoon and we had part of a beautiful end of the day over the whole Rhone valley.

  • Parc Naziunal

We spent wonderful days in the Swiss National Park, hoping to see the color peak of the golden larches. And yes, we’ve been lucky, we went in the right moment, having part of the last days of autumn, very warm and with great visibility.

  • Hirzli

Close to Zürich (reachable within 1hr) is Hirzli, a small mountain that “guards” the entrance to Glarus. From the top you have a nice panorama back to Zürichsee, Mittleland, Säntis, Chrufirsten, Walensee and Glarner Alps. Together with Oana, Toni, Joel and Kristina we went in this area, in a windy but warm day, enjoying the […]

  • Via ferrata Tälli

This ferrata is the oldest in Switzerland (was opened in 1993) but of course the cables and iron rungs are up-to-date maintained The area reminds me of Dolomites, I think mostly because of the rock type. Together with Oana, Dagmar, Rolf and Chrigu we climbed this via ferrata which was a bit long (you spend […]

  • Via ferrata Diavolo

The ferrata is situated in the vicinity of  Teufelsbrücke (Devil’s bridge) at 20 minutes of walk from Andermatt. Best time of day to do it is midday as the sun arrives only then in the valley. The ferrata has medium difficulty and is very good equipped. We saw a lot of families with children and is […]
